Yemeni government official escapes suicide attack

SANAA, Yemen (AP) ? Yemeni security officials say a government official who once led a local militia against al-Qaida in the country's south has survived a suicide attack. One of his guards died of wounds sustained in the attack.

The officials said the attacker detonated his explosives Saturday near the vehicle of Mohammed Aidarous, the head of Lawder district in Abyan province. The officials said the explosion left 10 wounded, including three civilians. One guard later died of his wounds in a hospital in Aden. Aidarous had led a local militia which fought alongside Yemen's military to drive al-Qaida militants out of their district.

It was the fourth assassination attempt against Aidarous, who was unharmed.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Cheap Coal, EU Rules Threaten British Energy Crunch

Posted on Sep. 28, 2012 From Reuters

Britain could face an energy supply crunch this decade as cheap coal encourages plant operators to race through generation hours before new EU environmental rules come into force, then shutter generating capacity ahead of schedule next year.

High gas prices and lack of clarity on incentives for investment in renewable energy are meanwhile seen hampering plans to replace about a fifth of the country's electricity generation with cleaner alternatives over the next 10 years.

Bicycle Accident Kills Bicyclist After Being Hit by Two Cars - Typepad

Bicycle accident fatal police tape - noyes newsA bicyclist was hit by two automobiles in Dade City in Saturday. The bicyclist was 29-year-old James C. Allbritton of Dade City.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Mr. Allbritton was riding south on State Road 35, near Wilds Road, when he was struck by an automobile which was also being driving south. The impact sent Mr. Allbritton bouncing off of the vehicle and into the northbound lanes of the roadway. That's where he was run over by the second car. Mr. Allbritton was pronounced dead at the scene just before 11 p.m.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Allbritton family. It is hard when a loved one dies, but it is even tougher when the death is unexpected and caused by an accident. When a person dies in a car accident, bicycle accident or other type of crash, loved ones often don't get to say the good-byes they wish they could have said.

At the time of the crash, Mr. Albritton was riding on the correct side of the road. Florida law states that a bicyclist must ride as far to the right as practicable. It does NOT say as far to the right as possible. Practicable means capable of being done within the means and circumstances present. For safety, a cyclist should maintain no less than 2 feet of clearance from the edge of usable pavement to have room to maneuver around obstructions and to be more visible to crossing traffic.

Reports state that Mr. Allbritton was riding his bike in dark-color clothes and without a light. This tragedy should serve a reminder to all bicycle riders that it is important to take steps to be seen--wear bright clothes and put a light and reflectors on your bicycle.

Bicyclist, ride safely and motorists, drive safely watching out for bicyclist. Together, lives could be saved.

Searching Back On My Very first Year Using a Home Based Business

If you really find this article helpful Give it a PLUS from below and help us to spread it.

By Kirk Bannerman

For causes that escape me now, I kept kind of a diary through my
initially complete year of operating at a household based business enterprise. It was
nothing close to getting a full daily diary, but was additional of a
collection of scribbles about points that I felt had been worthy of
note at the time. Due to the fact very a bit of time has passed considering the fact that
then, I chose to revisit these notes.

In no certain order, here are many of the items that I had
made note of.

Selecting the path?inside the starting, my enthusiasm was quite high
(maybe too high) and I was chasing off on a number of diverse
home-based business opportunities at the very same time (exhibiting
the ?dog within a meat market? syndrome, I suppose) and not focusing
my efforts enough to become thriving at any single certainly one of them. I
finally reigned myself in and focused on a single work at residence
business opportunity.

In other notes I locate reference to emotional and/or psychological
concerns that I knowledgeable and are likely typical for many
folks when starting a property based business. When operating at house
an individual can, at times, expertise a feeling of isolation which
is in all probability brought on by the lack of interaction of an operate force
atmosphere.

There were also periods of doubt in the early going?did I pick
a viable business opportunity?am I undertaking the appropriate points to
make my business?when will I start out making a profit, and
so on.

Many from the entries in my so-called diary had to do with all the
proverbial ?two steps forward and a single step backward? factor and
the ever-looming temptation to turn out to be discouraged. Although I
didn?t appreciate it at the time, it is now obvious that as lengthy
as you?ve much more actions forward than backward you might eventually
get ahead! Is not hindsight incredible

Other entries reflect the truth that comparatively minor events can
appear enormous inside the early stages of developing an operate at dwelling
small business and can really contribute to an emotional roller coaster
ride. As an example, when you are just starting out and you might have two
customers/clients and you lose a single?that is a 50% drop! But,
should you quick-forward in time towards the point exactly where you have got hundreds
of customers/clients and you shed 1?that is just a mere
fraction of 1%! Similar event, just at an unique point in time.

Seeking back on it now, a few of the stuff I recorded now seems
humorous, but I?m pretty sure that was not the case at the time
I made the notations.
